Local Link Waterford is deeply saddened by the loss of our valued friend, colleague, and Board member Ned Ryan who served with dedication and distinction for the past 15 years.
During his long association with Local Link Waterford, he was a steadfast advocate for community transport and a passionate supporter of accessible and inclusive services for people across County Waterford. His contribution extended far beyond his role on the Board; he brought integrity, insight, and compassion to every discussion, always ensuring that the needs of passengers and communities remained at the heart of our decision-making.
Paying tribute, the Chairperson of Local Link Waterford Cllr John Pratt said:
“For 15 years, Ned gave unwavering commitment to Local Link and to the communities we serve. His wisdom, integrity, and genuine care for people shaped our Board and strengthened Local Link Waterford immeasurably. He was a trusted colleague and a true friend, and will be greatly missed by us all.”
General Manager James O’Donoghue added:
“Ned was always deeply supportive of our staff and management and always generous with his time and encouragement. His calm presence throughout his time with us made for a lasting impression on our organisation and the services we provide. We will ensure that his legacy will continue in the work we do every day.”
Respected and warmly regarded by all who worked with him, Ned was not only a source of guidance but also kindness and encouragement throughout his many years of service with us. His influence and dedication helped shape Local Link Waterford into what it is today.
On behalf of the Board, management, staff, and the communities we serve, we extend our deepest sympathies to Ned’s wife Mary and their family, friends, and loved ones at this very difficult time.
He will be greatly missed.
May he rest in peace.
